Life is so exciting and I am thrilled to turn my passion for beauty into a successful career as a jewelry consultant. I am honored to help people make the important moments in life more memorable by finding the most amazing jewelry pieces for them.
I love Beauty! I grew up in St. Petersburg, the art and cultural center of Russia, which is also known as “a museum under the sky.” Surrounded by the best Russian, Italian and French architecture, palaces and art pieces, famous paintings, sculptures, best classical music and dance, I soaked up this tremendous historical and art heritage which gave me more inspiration.
Even in the Soviet era with its absence of stylish clothes, shoes and jewelry, I pursued my passion for beauty by finding my own style. I designed my own clothes and jewelry and bought Italian shoes on the black market.
While I graduated from the prestigious State University of St. Petersburg with a Masters Degree in Economics, I met a fashion designer. We produced collections of ‘haute couture’ (high-end) and ‘prêt-a-porter’ (ready-to-wear) women’s clothes. We participated in fashion shows and sold our clothing line in chic boutiques. My life was interesting, fulfilled and glamorous! Finally, my heart was in the right place - in the World of Beauty!
In searching out beauty in other places, I intensively traveled all over Europe, Canada, the United States, Thailand, Mauritius, Seychelles islands. These travels widened my horizon and enriched me immensely and I loved hanging out with locals learning their culture, history, food, fashion and art.
I also have a passion for speed and adventure so I took part in several car races and won a few of them! It was an unforgettable experience.
I moved to Los Angeles to pursue my desire for beauty and adventure. My newfound American experience has added totally different dimension to my Russian background. I got a great opportunity to work at a well-known Southern Californian high-end jewelry store and I later became a sales associate at an estate jewelry boutique in Beverly Hills.
Working there gave me a fantastic opportunity to gain valuable experience in jewelry world. This is when I became totally fascinated with antique cut diamonds and period jewelry.
Thanks to this new career path, I have been exposed to amazing, unique—often one-of-a-kind—pieces of jewelry, some of which you could imagine on exhibit in the finest museums around the world. I held these works of art in my hands and learned how to study them minutely with a loupe.
The world of Beauty! - Since my heart was in the right place, I took further jewelry studies and graduated from the GIA Diamond Course. I joined the National Association of Jewelry Appraisers which gave me the opportunity to study antique and period jewelry in detail and become a certified jewelry appraiser. Through years of study, training and experience, I became an expert in modern and antique jewelry.
